August 2025: Harvest, Maize & New Hedgecutters

August brought one of the driest harvests in years, with some farms recording their earliest finish on record. Here’s a look back at the month’s highlights.

Harvest in full swing

JCB telehandlers have been flat out stacking straw at farms across the country. Assisting straw contractors with multiple telehandlers, collecting straw and loading lorries in their operations across the South of the UK to supporting independent farms with their smaller-scale harvests.

Maize starting across the Southwest

The tail-end of August saw the first maize harvesting jobs begin. Our workshop team is working hard to turn trailers around from grain to silage as we move through the agricultural calendar onto the next crop.

With customers making a start on maize from Dorset to the Isle of Wight, trailers and Fastracs have been delivered across the country to assist in the maize harvest operations.
