SW Machinery Hire at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show 2023 - JCB telehandler, John Deere tractor and XUV865M gator, McConnel PA6567T

A monthly summary of what happened at SW Hire this month.

Machinery

The first machine to arrive in the yard this month was a Rotating 21m Manitou Telehandler. A much bigger telehandler than what we previously had, the 21m reach will mean extended access within construction sites.

Before heading out on any hires, the 21m Manitou was delivered to Barbury shooting school, alongside a JCB telehandler as sponsorship for their Pro One Challenge. The 21m reach was well used, making an interesting clay trap for the competitors.

A congregation (a group of gators) of John Deere XUV865M Gators were delivered down to a Cornwall estate for their first hire.

New to the yard this month was a 16t black Larrington grain trailer, supplied by G and J Peck which will head straight out for harvest. The other addition was a 15t Bunning rear discharge muck spreader. To view our full range of muckspreaders available for hire, click here.

Events

Lastly, we made our debut appearance at Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show in Dorset this month. Facing one of the entrances, we welcomed lots of new and existing customers and discussed potential hire opportunities. Exhibited on our stand was: a brand new SDS, 536.95, TM320s, Gator, John Deere 6R 130 and the new 6567T McConnel hedgecutter. Although harvest still seems to be going, and the majority of farms are still combining, lots of people have been looking ahead to the hedgecutting season. Having out a new McConnel hedgecutter on the stand was a reminder to customers to book in, ready for when the season starts in September.
