July 2025 at SW Hire

Combines are rolling and dust is flying. Grain harvest is well underway, and our machines are working hard across the country.

Tractors, Trailers and Telehandlers on harvest

We move from July into August, with some farms having completed their harvest and others battling wet fields in the East.

A huge thank you to all of our hauliers for delivering our machines to customers swiftly and on time, ensuring each farm could begin their harvest as planned. We also extend our thanks to our workshop team for preparing machines and trailers with quick turnaround times to meet customer deadlines.

Brand new JCB 542-100 stacking straw

The newest model of telehandler in the fleet – the JCB 542-100 AgriXtra – has been a popular choice by hay & straw merchants this harvest. With the additional 3 metres of reach from a standard 542-70 telehandler, the new 10 metre model has proven itself in the field.

Dump trailer hire

Busy working to move material from one end of the farm to the other, our dump trailers are suited to both agricultural and site work. With the option between 16 or 20 tonne, the half-pipe design is lower than a truck, making it easier load.

Hedgecutting season approaches

The 1^st August marks one month until the hedgecutter open period commences. Hedge-cutter hire is popular option for seasonal maintenance—ideal when the equipment is only needed for a few weeks a year. With machinery costs continuing to rise, hiring in a hedgecutter could improve your farm’s cash flow in comparison to outlaying the cost for a new machines.
