SW Hire - Monthly summary: July

A monthly summary of what happened at SW Hire this month.

New Machines

July started with the first of the eighteen new pieces of trailers and machinery to be delivered. Two brand new 18 tonne silage trailers were delivered by Richard Western ready for grass, and maize silage later in the year.

There has been a mix of telehandlers delivered, additional support to farmers through the harvest and construction sites. A JCB TM320s, two 542.70 JCB’s arrived from Haynes, a Kramer from Hunt Forest Group and a 6m construction spec Manitou, supplied by TH White.

We have added another four JCB 4220 iCON Fastrac’s to our fleet, ready for the harvest period. One went straight on hire from Haynes to a local customer in Newbury and the three others were collected from RECO.

The biggest addition to the fleet this month was John Deere XUV865M Gators. We collected an initial five gators from Ben Burgess, with a further one to be collected in the coming weeks. Before they even arrived, three of them had a hire booked in. As standard, the Gators come as a basic spec, but upon request we can add modifications to suit your hire needs. The last of the new machinery to be collected was a brand new McConnel PA6567T and 6R 215, supplied by Hunt Forest Group. Both of which are available to hire, both together and separately.

Events

Back at the beginning of the month, we took a few machines to Heddington and Stockley Steam Rally in support of the event. During the set-up our Kramer was used to transport fencing around the site, and during the event was used to add/take off weights from the tractor pulling sledge. Visitors could find our John Deere 8R 370, brand new JCB Fastrac 4220 iCON and 419s loading shovel with bucket. Also at the event was a tanker, on hire to a local contractor for re-filling the steam engine water tanks.
