Monthly Summary: May 2025

May brought a surge of brand-new machines to the fleet, Young Farmers Rally, and the start of a busy silage season. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

New Machines

A continuous flow of brand-new machinery kept our hauliers busy throughout May. Our workshop team was quick to turn machines around — in as little as two hours from arrival in the yard, through PDI checks and sticker applications, before heading back out a hire customer.

New this month:

• 2600 Gallon Major Tanker & Dribble Bar – supplied by Halse Southwest.
• 24ft JPM Plant Trailer – supplied by RJ & KD McLean.
• Two JCB 542-100 AgriXtra Telehandlers – supplied by RECO JCB.
• JCB TM320s – Supplied by RECO JCB.
• Two Richard Western 14t Silage Trailers.
• 16t Richard Western Silage Trailer – supplied by Claas Western.
• JCB 525-60 Telehandler – supplied by Holt JCB.
• Four 6R 155 John Deere Tractors are set to join the fleet in the next couple of weeks, after completing their PDI checks at the dealership – supplied by Hunt Forest Group.

Silage

With dry spells continuing on from April, we saw plenty of trailers heading out for first cut of grass. Three of our newest trailers worked at a local farm, hauling grass from field to farm.

With the weather remaining optimistic, second cut looks to be around the corner…

Events - Wiltshire YFC Rally

On Saturday 17^th May, we proudly supported our local Young Farmers Clubs at their annual rally.

On display:

• John Deere 6R215 – a new 2025 tractor which has just completed it’s first hire sub-soiling ground in preparation for maize.
• Brand new JCB 532-70 – which came off the lorry earlier in the week.
• John Deere 6R130
• 14t Richard Western Silage Trailer – brand new and delivered at the start of the week, hired for two days of silage and returned on the Friday for the rally on Saturday.
• We also took a 16t Silage trailer which was supplied by Claas Western, for their stand.

At the rally, we hosted the auctioneering competition at our stand. Competitors had the option of auctioneering any machinery on display, as well as a pen of sheep from the farm. Securing first place was our own Hire Manager Jonny Taylor, a huge well done to him.

Congratulations to Devizes YFC for securing the overall victory for the second year running!

Gator Upgrades

We recently welcomed Air-Seal Products to our yard to explore tyre upgrades for our fleet.

As part of the first implementation trial, we’ve installed their Heavy Duty Sealant into our John Deere Gator fleet. Customer feedback prompted our investment in making this upgrade — helping to prevent punctures and keep machines moving.
