October has been a busy month here at SW Hire, with exciting new progress in our yard developments and dry weather allowing farmers to achieve more.
We kicked off the month at the Dairy Show at the Bath & West Showground, catching up with customers, suppliers and fellow industry professionals.
There was a great mix of conversations, both with new customers discussing the logistics of how machinery hire could work for their farms, and with existing customers who discovered new machinery within our hire fleet.

At the Dairy Show, we received a lot of enquiries regarding sale machinery; we’ve now listed various ex-hire machines available for sale on our website. Visit www.sw-hire.co.uk/machinery-sales/ to view the full range.

Back at HQ, foundations and groundworks have officially started on our new office, marking a big step forward in the next stage of our development.
The new 2-bay wash is also operational, as we continue to extend our yard and workshop to keep up with our continued growth.
Our machines are on-hand to help with the project. A 6t Takeuchi and breaker assisted in breaking up the old wash way, and a tractor & 16t dump trailer unit moved material away from the area.

We’re looking forward to sharing more updates as the build progresses over the coming months.
Working with Richard Western, we’ve been trialling their brand new model of muckspreader, the D15. With a successful first hire, feedback on the spreader was positive and moved muck well with a good spread.
October also saw plenty of haulage miles covered! We delivered an 8R 370 up to Yorkshire, a Gator to Lincolnshire, and an 8R 410 heading for Cambridgeshire.
