From John Deere to Pancakes: February Highlights at SW Hire

Staff milestones and a trip to Exeter for the West Country Farming & Machinery Show 2026. Take a read of what we got up to in February.

West Country Farming & Machinery Show 2026

At the start of the month, we headed back down to Exeter for the West Country Farming & Machinery Show 2026!

Upgrading our stand from last year, we managed to fit a John Deere 6R155 on the stand; a great indication to visitors what they can expect when they hire our machinery.

A great all-round option, the 6R155 is a popular choice for its versatility throughout seasonal work and a great option for construction sites too.

Also on-site supporting the show set-up and breakdown, were two of our JCB telehandlers. Aside from moving fellow exhibitor machinery to and from their stands, the 542-70 and 536-95 were placed in the outside area during the show. Despite being working machines, the telehandlers were well presented for visitors to see.

Jonny & Mae were on-hand, discussing options for seasonal hires, such as hedgecutters and muckspreaders.

Staff Updates

February brought some wonderful milestones for our team. At the start of the month, Mae, our Marketing Coordinator, celebrated her 3‑year work anniversary, closely followed by Jonny marking his first year with us.

We also took the opportunity to wish Jonny a very happy 30th birthday! The office celebrations were in full swing, complete with a beautifully handmade tractor-and-sheep themed cake by Rachel — perfectly fitting for the occasion.

And of course, we couldn’t let an important day of the year pass by unnoticed — Pancake Day! Our team enjoyed a delicious spread, with lemon and sugar proving to be the top choice.
