SW Hire - Monthly Summary: March 2026

We've got new machines and some 'family photos'.

As the farming calendar begins to gather pace, we’re seeing a fresh wave of new stock arriving both at dealerships and here at our yard. It’s an exciting time of year as we gear up for a busy season ahead.

New Machines

With spring underway, we’ve welcomed an influx of brand-new 2026 machines to our fleet. To meet growing demand, we’ve expanded with a mix of telehandlers, UTVs, and compact equipment—ready to support customers throughout the year.

A big thank you to Thorncliffs for supplying our two brand-new 26-plate JCB telehandlers. With the first now back at our yard, you may have already spotted both 542-70 Agri Xtra models featured across their social channels.

Straight from Dealership to farm - a brand new JCB 4220 iCON Fastrac with row crops was delivered to a customer in Norfolk. Supplied by G&J Peck Ltd.

Our Gator fleet continues to grow with the arrival of the upgraded John Deere XUV875M. Building on the trusted 865 model, the 875M offers a slightly larger cargo bed while retaining the same high-spec features. With a climate-controlled cab and 4x4 capability, it’s one of the most comfortable and capable Gators in our fleet.

You asked—and we listened. We’re pleased to introduce a new range of compact tractors and equipment. The first to arrive is the 37hp open-cab 3038E, available with a range of attachments including a chain harrow, rotavator, and roller.

More compact tractors are on the way, ranging from 37–65hp, with options for both cabbed and open-cab models, as well as agricultural and turf tyres. To compare specifications and find the right machine for your needs, visit the compact equipment section on our website.

Staff Updates

March has been a productive month for staff development and training across the team.

  • Billy and Alfie successfully completed their Hydraulic Hose Making training with Kramp, earning their certifications.
  • Tom, our Yard Manager, has achieved a new qualification and is now our designated Mental Health First Aider.
  • Mae has re-qualified in her First Aid at Work certification.

In the workshop, we also handed out a few disposable cameras to capture day-to-day life behind the scenes. The results were entertaining to say the least—ranging from action shots and machinery highlights to some… questionable “family photo” moments!

Customer photos

It’s been great to see our machines out in action, including:

  • A telehandler stacking straw at Stud Farm Contracting
  • JCB Fastrac spotted at JCB Golf Course
  • A Fastrac and trailer hard at work transporting woodchip

Lambing 2026

It’s not all about machinery at SW Hire. Lambing season kicked off and, within just a week, was successfully completed.

With a healthy mix of twins and triplets, the flock has grown by an impressive 120%—a great result for Simon.
