First-cut of silage has the green light and new tractors have joined the fleet.

Hunt Forest Group Spring Ride & Drive Show

At the start of the month Simon and Mae headed down to the Bath & West Showground for Hunt Forest Group’s Spring Ride and Drive Show.

On display with us were two brand new John Deere tractors, the 6R 215 and 6R 130, supplied by Hunt Forest Group which had been collected two days prior, along with a McConnel PA6565T hedgecutter and a fully electric Gator.

Paired with our sand-loaded trailers, the new 6M tractors were put to work in a live demonstration, giving customers the chance to drive John Deere’s newest M-series tractors.

A big thank you to Hunt Forest Group for having us — a great event and a brilliant opportunity to showcase the kit in real working conditions and discuss with customers options for machinery hire.

John Deere 6R215 First Hire

Following from the Hunt Show, the 6R 215 was sent out for it’s first hire with a local farmer. Hired in for a week period, the farm managed to subsoil their fields with the additional horsepower with this tractor. Supplied with GPS for precision and keeping lines straight. Silage Trailers

The end of April saw a handful of local farms start on their first cut of silage. We went to visit one of the farms who hired in 14t and 16t silage trailers to haul their grass from field to clamp.

Goal Setting

 As part of our partnership with GEL studios, Marketing Coordinator Mae attended two days’ worth of workshops to review our business and set some goals for future development.

The first day was spent in a Goal Setting Workshop to establish where we’re heading as a business and creating objectives to achieve this. Supporting this was the workshop on day 2, in which Mae underwent training on how to run a comprehensive SEO audit; identifying areas where our website is performing well and where we can make improvements.

Upon returning to the office, Mae held a meeting with Managing Director Simon Williams and new Hire Manager Jonny Taylor; to run through our objectives and ensure we are working synergistically to achieve this.
