Monthly Summary: July

The monthly round-up.

Harvest has begun! With everyone seeming to have had the green light at once, our workshop and delivery team worked extremely hard to get kit to our customers.

At the start of the month, with the general election looming, Sir Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrat party, stopped by Lacock on the final day of his tour. Along with local candidate Sarah Gibson, had a morning of driving our machinery. A JCB 542-70 telehandler and 4220 iCON Fastrac were seen on the national live news being driven by Sir Ed Davey himself as part of his action-packed political campaign. No matter your political persuasion or who you voted, we’ll hire to you.

Lorry loads out the yard:

Though grain harvest is now underway, we’ve had a few trailers out on hire for silage and whole crop. A range of 18, 16 and 14 tonne trailers have been out at multiple farms and contractors across Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. July has proved to be a popular month for cutting grass. The tractor and topper combination were a combination which were in high demand. 

Festival season

Special delivery: managing director Simon Williams took a day trip to Lulworth castle to deliver a John Deere HPX815E Gator to assist with Camp Bestival, held over Thursday 25 July to Sunday 28 July 2024.

With the festival season in full swing, we been taking kit to work on the behind-the-scenes:

• Flatbed trailers, telehandlers & tankers were taken down to Boomtown Festival to assist with the set up of the stages.
• Lattitude festival has had three tractors and people carrier trailers to help with moving personnel around site.
• A Gator and telehandler were sent down to Boardmasters Festival in Newquay.

Our Marketing Coordinator Mae has been working on an event-package. The pdf contains information about machinery and specifications to allow you to select the best-suited machine for your event/show. Popular machine for events includes:

• Telehandlers
• People carrier trailers
• Tractors
• Gators

New machinery

With all of the machines going out on hire for the summer, we’ve continued to take deliveries of new kit! 

• 14 tonne grain/silage trailers x2
• 16 tonne grain/silage trailers x6
• 18 tonne grain/silage trailers x2

A JCB 542-70 telehandler has gone straight from RECO to a customer for stacking straw this harvest. A second one will be on the way soon. We also took delivery of a third 542-70 and 536-95 telehandler which have both gone out on hire for harvest.
