An early harvest meant June got off to a busy start.
From our Wiltshire depot, and directly from dealerships across the country, tractors, telehandlers and trailers headed straight out to customers as harvest preparations gathered pace.
June saw a constant stream of new arrivals as we continued investing in our hire fleet ahead of one of the busiest times of the year.
A huge thank you goes to all of our supplying dealers for preparing and delivering machines in time for harvest.
Although we weren't exhibiting at the Royal Cornwall Show this year, SW Hire was still represented. RSM Beare displayed one of our brand-new JCB TM320S telescopic wheeled loaders on their stand, while back at their depot a selection of JCB 538-60 and 542-70 telehandlers were ready for collection.

Chandlers supplied two new JCB Fastrac tractors, and five 542-70 AgriXtra telehandlers, of which were undergoing their final pre-delivery inspections before joining the fleet.

RECO delivered five new 7-metre JCB telehandlers, including a mix of 532-70 AgriSuper, 542-70 AgriXtra and 542-70 AgriPro models.

From G & J Peck, we added more Fastracs, telehandlers and even a Kubota tractor. Some of these machines were spotted supporting the Barry Gowler Memorial Tractor Run in Cambridgeshire as part of Peck's fundraising efforts.
Oliver Landpower supplied additional long-reach telehandlers and Fastracs, including two JCB 542-100s and two 536-95s, all completing their final checks before heading out to customers.

Earlier in the year we also collected a number of Fastracs and JCB telehandlers from Thorncliffs. Our latest Fastracs didn't stay in the yard for long—they were delivered straight to a customer for bale chasing this harvest.

Our John Deere fleet also continued to grow throughout June, with new machines arriving from Ben Burgess and Hunt Forest Group. Deliveries included 6M and 6R tractors ranging from 125hp to 250hp, alongside new 7R 310 and 7R 350 models.

June also welcomed a new machine to our vegetation management range.
The Maschio Giraffa XXL side-arm flail topper is a 2.6m rear-mounted machine designed to tackle areas that are difficult to reach with conventional toppers. Offering a working range from -65° to 90° vertical, it's ideal for maintaining banks, ditches, bushes and hedgerows.
For maximum productivity, it can be paired with one of our 2.8m front-mounted flail toppers, allowing operators to cover a wider working width in a single pass.

We were proud to support CLAAS UK during their Rugby Road Run, which saw the famous 'Rugby Tractor' travel from Exeter to Evesham in aid of the MND Association.
With support from local farmers and visits to rugby clubs along the route, the team surpassed their £10,000 fundraising target. Donations are still being accepted via their JustGiving page here.

June also brought one of the biggest events in the arable calendar—Cereals: The Arable Event.
Held this year at Diddly Squat Farm, the event provided another opportunity to catch up with customers and suppliers from across the industry.
Several SW Hire machines could be spotted around the site, including John Deere Gators helping transport equipment across the rain-soaked showground and one of our flatbed trailers on the KWS/Horsch stand.
Simon, James and Mae spent their time meeting customers, discussing the season ahead and hearing how crops were progressing across the country.

As temperatures climbed and harvest preparations intensified, the team enjoyed a well-earned surprise when Marshfield Farm delivered a selection of their famous Marshfield Moments ice creams to the yard.
Safe to say they didn't last long.

It’s always great to see our machines out on hire. Here’s a couple of customer highlights we’ve seen on social media from June:
• Alvis Contracting using a JCB 542-70 AgriXtra for collecting hay.
• Knighton Countryside Management using a Richard Western silage trailer.
